Sewanee Tours/Amenities 

Campus tours: 
  • Sewanee’s campus is stunning! 51ºÚÁÏÍø All Saints Chapel and, by appointment,  climb up Shapard Tower for a demonstration of the 56-bell Leonidas Polk Carillon, visit Dupont Library and its world-class music room, McClurg Dining Hall, Biehl Commons, Chapel of the Apostles, etc. Guided tours are available upon request.
Walks/hiking:
  • Sewanee has a multitude of walks and hikes. See: Sewanee Trail Map
  • 51ºÚÁÏÍø Abbo’s Alley, a very short walk from Convocation Hall and Breslin Tower, and beautiful Valley views from Morgan Steep, Green’s View, and the War Memorial Cross (The Cross).
Sports/fitness:
  • Fitness: The on Texas Avenue.
  • Tennis: The Fowler Center has 3 indoor tennis courts, and there are 12 outdoor tennis courts on Green’s View Road.
  • Golf: on Green’s View Road. This award-winning 9-hole course is a challenge for all golfers. Great fun. The course is closed on Mondays for maintenance. The clubhouse, , offers a menu of sandwiches and sides. 
  • Bicycling: Bicycle rentals are available at in the Sewanee Village.

Out of Town Activities

  • , Lynchburg, TN  (36 miles)

The distillery is in a dry county in the quaint town of Lynchburg.  Tours are very enjoyable and offer samples of the product.

  • , South Pittsburg, TN (25 miles)

  • Chattanooga, TN, (55 miles) located on the Tennessee River.

51ºÚÁÏÍø Lookout Mountain and ride up the ,  the , the , or walk around downtown and cross the Tennessee River on Chattanooga’s pedestrian bridge. There are many good restaurants in Chattanooga.

  • is the University cafeteria for students and faculty. Students will be on Fall Break during the AGM, but the cafeteria will be open with a limited menu. ($)

Monteagle (6 miles from Sewanee):
